Your Trusted Shenandoah Valley Realtor

I grew up working for my dad, either trying to keep up on on his construction sites or learning to help customers at his little hardware store in Gordonsville, VA. My mom taught English at Orange County High School. So, I learned early how to listen, communicate clearly and pay attention to my surroundings. After Jen and I got married, I built and remodeled homes and Jen was a school psychologist in Charlottesville. We started a family and I started chipping away at a Masters Degree from The University of Virginia in Urban and Environmental Planning.

I have always been fascinated by the fact that if we take the time to honor certain tried and true values, the things we build, from products, to homes, to towns and cities (to families), become treasures. I've made it my business to understand what makes a house a home and how we might do all the things we do, without damaging the natural systems we need. My work helping builders make more environmentally beneficial decisions about building materials led to a position developing standards for the US Green Building Council.

As our kids grew, our adventures together have taken us to so many special places we've gotten to call home, including now in Harrisonburg, as Jen pursues her doctorate in Clinical Psychology at JMU. I am energized by the responsibility and opportunity to help people every day. I truly never get tired of looking at homes, seeing how they are put together and what makes them special.

As a Realtor with Valley Realty Associates, it's a privilege and pleasure helping people find a better quality of life. Joanne Knauf's example inspired me to become a Realtor. She and her team taught me well. I can't thank them enough for showing me by example what the very best agents bring to their clients every day, 100%.
